Isobath · the daily place-it-on-the-map game · 2026-09-17 UTC

Today's Isobath is live. Five cities, one at a time, and a blank world chart to place them on: tap to drop a pin, drag to adjust it, then confirm. An arc springs from your pin to the truth and the distance counts up. Five rounds, about two minutes.

A blank world chart — coastlines only. Today's five locations are not shown.

Today's five locations are not shown here — that would spoil the live puzzle. They appear on this page once the day is over.

The five cities and the answer map publish on this page after 00:00 UTC.

Play 17 September 2026

There is nothing to install and no account to make: the puzzle is a pure function of the UTC date, so the same five cities are waiting for every player in the world right now. Come back after midnight UTC and this page turns into the answer — the five cities, in the order they were played, over the chart with the points marked.

How Isobath works

You are never asked to name a place — you are asked to place it. Tap the blank chart where you think the city is, drag the pin until it feels right, then confirm. The score for the round is the great-circle distance between your pin and the truth, in kilometres, and the five rounds are added together, so a low total is a good total. Under 25 km is a pinpoint; under 150 km is close; under 600 km puts you in the right region. Everyone in the world plays the same five cities on the same UTC day, and the guide explains the tiers and has the tips that actually move a score.
